About the Elizabeth K Collection
Curated by owner Lisa Ellen Downs and her team, the Elizabeth K Collection designer spotlight event will highlight a collection of dresses named in honor of the first registered bride in Wabash County, Indiana ~ Elizabeth Keller. In 1832, Elizabeth Keller and her fiance arranged for Captain Elias Murray of Lagro to perform the ceremony at the Keller cabin near what is now Richvalley, Indiana. When the Captain arrived, he realized he did not have jurisdiction, since Richvalley was then in Cass County. The entire wedding party rode east by horseback into what is now Wabash County, and there, in the forest, under the canopy of the open skies, were married. After the ceremony, the wedding party returned to the Keller home to celebrate. Ellen’s Bridal Wabash is committed to honoring and celebrating the past, present and future of Wabash County.
Designer Selection Process
Owner Lisa Ellen Downs and her team meet with various independent wedding dress designers twice each year to hand select the dresses that will become a part of the Elizabeth K Collection. Because these dresses are created by independent designers you will not see them featured online, allowing Ellen’s Bridal to offer this collection of high quality, designer dresses at a reasonable price (less than $1,000). These independent designers are able to keep their costs reasonable because they do not invest in large advertising budgets nor mass production of their designs. Because these designers are independent designers, Lisa Ellen and her staff are afforded the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the designers to offer design input and modifications.
